Registering your Arrival


Each newcomer who takes up its residence within a Luxembourg municipality must be declared at the population office of the administration of the municipality.

The declaration must be done within eight days following the arrival of the resident in his place of residence.

In order to be registered, it is necessary to provide the following documents:

  • An identity card or passport valid
  • An entry visa or a residence permit (for those who come from a third countries) delivered by another Member State of the European Union
  • It is recommended to provide official documents regarding your family situation as marriage certificate, birth certificate of your children ect.
