How to Register my Car in Luxembourg

The owner of a road vehicle from abroad who moves in the Grand-Duchy has 6 months from the date of his arrival to register his car.

In order to register a car in Luxembourg, the main administrative procedures are:

Get customs clearance for your vehicle from the Centre Douanier in Gasperich which is required to obtain a 705-tax disc (vignette)
Pay the tax stamp to obtain a registration car (€50) from the Administration de l’Enregistrement et des Domaines
Request a licence plate number (numéro d’immatriculation) from Transport Ministry in Sandweilera – SNCT.

You will receive your proper tax disk, which is valid for one year.
